Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 24, 2026.  Anti-ICE protestor Alex Pretti was shot to death by ICE agents.  The left calls it murder.  The right calls it self-defense.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Pretti was a licensed gun owner.  At the time of the shooting, he had come to the aid of two women who were being pushed by ICE.  ICE officers pepper-sprayed them.  Pretti lay prone on the street when one of the officers saw his gun and pulled it from his waistband.  Seconds later, one of ICE, yelled “Gun!”  Two of the agents shot Pretti ten times.  He was dead on the scene.

This is a manslaughter case, whether it was by negligence or accidental.

The right-wing argues that Pretti “shouldn’t have brought a gun to a protest.”  Why not?  The Second Amendment doesn’t say anything against it.  The right said, “He should have stayed at home,” an even stupider argument.  The police are guilty.  They caused his death.

The cause for these circumstances is Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz for encouraging this kind of behavior and for ordering local police to stand down.
