Tipping Culture

Formerly, if you as a customer felt like tipping a waiter or waitress, 10% was expected.  Now, it’s between 15 and 25%.  A small mini-computer calculates your total, more or less, up for demand.

Tipping is for excellent service.  Now if someone brings you a cup of coffee, they want $20.  Is that fair?  Is that right?  Most fast-food places don’t tip at all.  Sometimes, those people work the hardest.

If you want to tip $100, be my guest.  But, don’t ask anyone else to.  Some countries don’t have tipping at all.  It’s considered an insult.

Here in the USA, it’s a preventive measure, so they don’t spit on your food.

Some folks insist you must tip a lot, to help the workers support their families.  That’s Communism.  If you want to help others, do it through charity.  Don’t force your intentions or beliefs.  And don’t give a big tip to those who don’t deserve it.
